ONLY HUMANS?
Recently I have come across a few conversations with people that seem to be missing a major piece of the puzzle. The belief that humans are somehow special and superior to everything else. And that is how it is presented- especially by religions- because that is exactly what the human ego likes to hear. I am special and better than all the lower life forms around me. That also means that only a human being can become enlightened. But is that true?
A human being, say you, is nothing but a life form in a dream. As such you are no different from any other life form here: deer, tree, rock or stapler. Thus if you believe that you can somehow awaken- then so too must the deer, or tree, or rock, or stapler. Yet how many out there reading this may think that their stapler or a rock outside is far more awake than they are? In my understanding, anything can realize its true nature, as the true nature of every object is the same- What Is. Why not realized trees, rocks, or even staplers.
One of the blocks to the Absolute, is the very fact that you think you are somehow better or more special than anything else. That concept of superiority is the block. Until you can see WHY a tree or stapler might be more enlightened than you- or better- that they can only be equally as enlightened as you- something has shifted.
